Sperm donation is anonymous for both sides. You provide us with information about your identity and health status of you and your family. This information won’t be misused in any way, we are bound by medical confidentiality.

Our patients have the right to choose their donor solely based on blood type, hair color, eye color and body type.

Who can donate?

Age 18-35

University or high school education with the school-leaving exam

Negative results in all legally required examinations of blood and urine

Why become a donor?

You will receive valuable information about your overall health and reproductive health (quantity and quality of sperm, blood type, Rh factor, sexually transmitted diseases, serious genetic conditions).

Sperm donors get a financial compensation of up to 20 000 CZK.

For some couples, you may be their only chance to conceive their own child.

How does donation work?

1 Initial assessment

Contact us via the form or by phone – we will arrange an appointment and explain the first steps. The initial assessment starts with a semen analysis; we recommend 2–3 days of abstinence and limiting alcohol and stress beforehand.

2 Semen analysis evaluation and results

If the sperm count and motility are satisfactory, microbiological testing follows. Test results are usually available within 10 working days; cultures within two weeks.

3 Additional tests and genetic consultation

With good results, further tests follow – screening for sexually transmitted diseases, blood type and genetic testing with a consultation. Everything is usually completed within about a month.

4 Regular collections and final check

Once all examinations are satisfactory, you can start sperm collections (1–2× per week). After six months, final testing is performed – only then can the sperm be used.

Answers to your questions

1. How many times do I need to come in?

To become a donor, you first need a semen analysis (a test of sperm quality). At the next appointment you will undergo genetic testing, blood sampling and an interview with our physician and geneticist; this can be completed in a single visit. If all results are satisfactory, we will schedule 10 appointments for sperm collection and cryopreservation. Six months after the last collection, a final check for sexually transmitted diseases is performed. If the result is negative, your compensation will be paid.

2. What information will I learn about my health and fertility?

All donors are tested for sexually transmitted diseases (HIV, syphilis, hepatitis B and C, chlamydia and bacterial cultures) and undergo genetic testing (karyotype, cystic fibrosis, a hearing‑loss gene and spinal muscular atrophy). You will also learn your blood type. The semen analysis provides detailed information about your current sperm quality.

3. What will the recipient couple learn about me?

Sperm donation is anonymous, so the couple will not learn anything about your identity. We only provide information about your age, blood type, eye colour, hair colour and height.
