The Sanatorium Helios was founded in 1994 as one of the first centres for diagnosis and treatment of infertility in the Czech Republic. From the start we have built on expertise, carefulness and personal approach and we have stuck with it.

In 2002 we started an exclusive collaboration with the  Australian clinic Genea World leading fertility (formerly Sydney IVF) which ranks among one of the most successful IVF centres worldwide. Thanks to this license we have access to the most recent methods and technology sooner than they get to common practice. We offer higher chances of success to our patients.

Our expertise has been noticed by independent evaluators. In 2018 and in 2020 we achieved a prestigious international accreditation Global Clinic Rating as the only ones from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. This accreditation is awarded to clinics that deliver above outstanding results in the long term and provide top health care and service at the same time.

Based on official GCR data the Sanatorium Helios ranks among the world’s top ten assisted reproduction centres. Our strength is not only the success of IVF cycles but also a complex and personal approach.  First examinations including the consultations are free, or often covered by public health insurance.

We have been looking for the most effective solution from the beginning- without unnecessary postponements or methods that don’t deliver results. Our goal is not only pregnancy but a healthy pregnancy in as few cycles as possible.

During every stimulation we reach for maximum precision. Patients go through at least three checkups including the ultrasound and blood tests. We operate seven days a week to get the timing of egg sampling and embryo transfer correct just according to the need, without compromise.

For fertilization we always choose the most appropriate method, from standard fertilization to more advanced methods such as ICSI, PICSI or MACS. We culture embryos to the blastocyst stage, when their quality and likelihood of successful implantation can be assessed most accurately.

Unlike other centres we standardly approach the transfer of one embryo. Thanks to the quality of our embryo culture we know that the chances of pregnancy grow with the number of transfers, not the number of embryos at the same time. If an embryo doesn’t meet the criteria, we don’t recommend transferring. We believe that sometimes it’s best to wait for another cycle rather than undergoing a procedure without any chance of success.

The modern technique of freezing allows us to safely store embryos and eggs. The success rate of pregnancies from thawed embryos is above 50% long term even with applying one embryo.

We are the first ones in Europe that started performing preimplantation genetic testing on blastocysts. Today we offer the complete PGT-A and PGT-M testing using the NGS method or PCR. Thanks to that the probability of pregnancy increases by one third.

We have a well-established programme for egg,sperm and embryo donation. Thanks to an extensive database of donors the waiting period is minimal. You pay only for the procedures that are actually performed- without paying a deposit months in advance.

Our health care doesn’t end with a positive pregnancy test. We will take care of you during the pregnancy: we offer Maternity Clinic, ultrasound and prenatal examinations including treatment in high risk pregnancies.
